what's been goin' on

woo wa wee wa

well keith and i settling back in at home in orlando but have been pretty stacked with work and other random stuff to get any filming done lately. HOWEVER, that is ALL about to change. We got some big plans ahead. I am planning a trip to Bradenton that looks like it will be happening tomorrow morning and lasting for a couple days, consisting mostly entirely of filming the crap out of Stuart Shinn, Travis Doran, and Nick Taylor. Crunch time is nearly upon us and it's about to get pretty intense. I know these kids have some bangers that have yet to be documented, and I think i might just take it upon myself to be the first to do so.

Aside from that there is some more news on everyone:
Matt Hooker is preparing to make the long drive back from New York starting next week, and that dude wants to film. So get ready for that wild man to put on his dancing shoes and make some magic.
Andrew Pastura is straight CHILLIN' up in the Buckeye State, no doubt learning new tricks constantly and watching his little bro Austin grow up into a shredding machine. Watch out for some footy of that little grom in Fun Boots!
Just talked to Reed a little bit on the phone, he's got some cool ideas to wants us to come shoot. Nice.

Anyway, I got a good feeling i'm going to get pretty stressed out these next couple months, but an empty wallet and a weekly school schedule are just simply going to have to be overcome by the powers of Fun Boots! Do it for Fun Boots!!!!!!

Awesome People

these are all the people who we would like to thank/partied really hard during the brostock trip:

first and foremost team blue prius (the Reeder brothers),Mr and Mrs Reeder, Roland Lugo Andy Warden, Brian Wyatt, Rich G, Micah Gaudio of Wake N Skate, Aaron Reed, Danny Hampson, James Balzer, Shane Bonifay, Collin Harrington, Silias Thurman, Aaron Grace-thanks for the beer, Andy Krich-you know how to party, everyone from lake high rock, Liz Murray, Adam Fields, Zach Ashton, Jimmy Watson, Shawn Watson, Bobby Schuller, Gib Gibbons, Andrew Fortunharry, the Conway sisters-lol, Bruce and Sara-Kate, Cabel, Busch, Busch Light, Bud, Bud Light, Miller Lite, Coors Lite, and most importantly Miller High Life-we couldn't have done it with out you. to everyone who we forgot sorry just yell at us we will remember next time.

go to obscurawakeskates.com to see what aaron and danny thought of brostock too!!

"You've just been brostocked!"

that was the saying for events such as this:

Photobucket

KL was in the prime of his life this last week or so up in the beautiful state of Virginia, US of A. There's not too much more I could say about it that keef didn't already relay below this, but pretty much YES, it was a great time and smith Mountain Lake is seriously epic. Chances are, if you live in Virginia you are the shiznit, cuz there are some damn cool people up there. Thanks so much to everyone for their hospitality and friendships. You really know how to show some people a good time.

Filming-wise up in VA it went a little differently than we had planned. Stu ended up not making it (for reasons still unknown to me), and Andy got real sick and couldn't make the drive. So we weren't hanging with too many wakeskaters filming for us, but we did get to witness Danny Hampson a little more-than-tipsy go shred the crap out of 3 boat passes right in front of the houseboats for a little LF SST demo. All i gotta say is 3 passes and this wild man went HS late frontbig, switch late front shuv, to front 3 all in a row, then turned around and did the BEST late front 3 shove known to man! First try! Pretty much danny is my hero. There was lots of "chillin" and "gellin" goin' on, lots of swimming, taking in the glory of SML, smuggling some broomsticks, driving our Priuses, wakesurfing, super 8 filming, and more photo glory. There were some pretty cool dogs up there too but no one probably wants to hear about that. Lastly to mention is the great harmonica/guitar jam sesh we had going on the last night of the trip, we need more of that musical bonding happening in our industry. alright well i could probably write a lot more, but oh well

woah

yeah thats right we all survived brostock (i think?). it was a great time for sure from jumbo margaritas to the club that went off on saturday night on Andy Krich's house boat. every one had a blast for sure (yes they all got blasted as well). also for the record the entire lf team knows how to party their faces off!!  ok so i am gonna try and give you a day by day of what we did during our trip there might be some blank spots so bare with me.

tuesday night: got the prius and left otown and headed out.
wednesday morning: 6 am BOJANGLES!! i was 8 1/2 hours deep driving and had-not slept yet it was the best breakfast ever!
8am: shredding shredding shredding for a good part of the day and then we hit the drinks got some food and repeated cycle
night timeish: met up with all the liquid force guys to find that they have already started partying with out us. we danced the night away and left dave at the house because he had danced a little too hard.
thursday: we were supposed to pick dave up at around 830 and didn't wake up till 10ish and slowly made our way to the lf house.
midday: i think we just ended up partying a little bit oh and we met up with bobby schuller and jimmy watson and went out on the boat with them.
evening: MEXICO VIEJO!!!! the best mexican restaurant ever! right when we got there i got a cool little time lapse and jumbo margarita and those didn't stop for like 4 or 5 hours. around 1030 the lf team showed up from karaoke and joined the fun. some how i ended up on their boat going back to their house with my laptop and an amazing playlist blaring out of the speakers of their boat. i ended up staying at the lf house that night
friday: morning we wake up get every thing out of the house and go get the houseboats. we pull them around to wake n skate and start dancing our faces off.
evening: a lf signing and bbq went down at wake n skate. after that we went to the reeders and cleaned up. and met all everyone up at the houseboats at the new location which was right in-front of mexico viejo.
saturday: we had the contest that fortunberry sandbagged in and took first place. also reeder ended up breaking his foot on his last trick and he ended up winning any way. all though out that day was a typical brostock day where we danced danced danced all day long! danny did one of the best demos ever seen and he looked good doin it. once the contest was done we drove the boats over to this cove in the mountain that made for a great place to party and thats when andy krich's boat went off and shane bonifay put it best "if wakeboarding and south beach had a kid this is what it would look like!" so we partied though the night and into the morning.
sunday: we all woke up later then usual and enjoyed some double ups, sun and beer. after that everyone parted their ways and we all ended up meeting up a brian wyatts house for a small little good bye party/concert provided by danny hampson.
monday: woke up at reeders, walked down to the dock and RELAXED we did nothing butt take it easy and god did that feel amazing. after we all packed up and slowly got going to depart we had to run to wake n skate one last time to exchange out some glasses and get some greenstate apparel. once we left there tommy, brian, roland, dave, liz, and myself all went to another mexican restaurant there and had one last meal before we headed out!

it was a great time i will have all my thank yous up on here later today

omgomgomgomgomg

keith aint lyin people, this may be the greatest weekend of your life coming up, it's called BroStock 2008, but fortunately for us no one is probably going to be remembering the year at all. Scene One is absolutely going to be in attendance and holding it down strong, our crew is KL, myself, and mr. Rolando the photo wizard. but that's just in our prius, we are going to be part of a little 407 caravan that will also include the reeder brothers and probably some other rowdy cool dudes. I'm pretty stoked for a little road trip like this one, ya know once you get past that like 3 or 4 hour mark you really start to zone in (aka "black out") and the road turns into a whole different animal. We ARE going to be doing some filming up there, with none other than our old friend Andy Pastura! Everyone is super stoked for his arrival up there. Stu is still kind of psyching us out on his possible attendance, who knows maybe he will just show up and blow all of our minds without us even knowing.

I talked to Matthew Hooker not too long ago, he is up in New York keeping it real in his home state and gathering footage of some crazy lock in stuff in his rail park up there... holla matt, back tails like what.

Trav still cant open his eyes.

Also talked to Clint Tompkins for quite a while yesterday and he has good news and more good news! apparently that guy is getting real crazy at his plethora of texas winch gaps, and gathering "probably more footage than you guys want." that's what i like to hear baby! No doubt his part is coming together to be epic, just you guys wait!!!

So the school-free summer is past half way over, which means that Fun Boots! is about to go into crunch time! We are going to get our lives together after brostock and get going on a ballin' teaser and intro to make your guys feet tap and hips sway, so keep your eyes out, trust me you'll know when it drops (hint hint: surf expo 08!)

stay posted, dont give up on us just yet!

PS. Stu Shinn is really really good behind the boat... you probably wouldn't believe it if i told you...

sincerely,
the deputy

virginia part 1

well i just got back from a little r&r in the beautiful state of virginia with the reeder brothers. the people are still the best and rowdier then any orlando resident for sure. how many people do you know in orlando that will rent out a bar for a night for the hell of it? we went to the wake n skate rail jam and ran into a hairy little island kid named andrew fortunberry you might know him. there was a pretty big showing for this rail jam especially for being where it was. bruce is still the man and so is our friends at green state (wyatt and andy).  oh and that kid zack does a fantastic job of holding it down for the wakeskaters on sml.  prius are good on gas but god they look gay.
i will be returning there in a week from tomorrow.  so if your coming to brostock sml be sure to say whats up to us we will be in full brostock form.  special thanks for the following people for this recent trip: brian and tommy reeder, kelly and tom reeder, andy warden and girlfriend christy, brian wyatt, micah gaudio, and all the other rowdy dance specialists that were out there. oh and cant forget about that high rock crew those people are awesome.

blackin' out

whoa.... what just happened? it's july first.

i almost completely forgot about this blog, but fortunately now it's back in my grasp. Well after Texas I went on a little relaxing sailing trip with my dad and johnny and his dad down to anna maria island and Long Boat Key... it was real chill. but unfortunately basically nothing to do with wakeskating or fun boots!, except for the one day we went and rode with Trav, pirate style. Trav or Stu call me nearly everyday with some crazy new story about tricks going down. those two are just riding with each other all day everyday and the progression is pretty nuts.

I have been straight chillin here in the Narc lately, just been putting footage in my computer, editing, checking shit out...it's lookin very nice. Johnny, Roland, and I are heading back down to the 239 pretty soon, and we're taking Trav with us too, so it's about to get real rowdy and Trav's part will be close to done after like 5 sets with the kid. I've been getting some calls from Matt Hooker from up in New York where he is stationed for the summer. He told me about some rail park he has been working on up there with like 6 rails in it already or something, guess that dude is missing the projects!!! he's been shreddin too, using those Oak Udders and learning new tricks all the time, like backtails and frontnose shuvs. Andy and Nick are in the Philippines right now, those lucky bastards, probably putting in a good 14 hours a day of pure riding time.

The next big thing for Scene One/FUN BOOTS! is going to be our Virginia trip the middle of this month. Smith Mountain Lake, helicopter shoots, BroStock, karaoke... i can't wait!

keep in touch
